‘PICTURES PREVAIL’- GRADUATE COLLECTION

‘Pictures Prevail’, is a collection of wearable artworks, inspired by the poem ‘Pictures’ by Lenore McComas Coberly. The collection explores our relationship with memories captured on camera. Inspired by the intersection of textile design and the Modern Art movement in the late 40s and 50s, it references several artists. From Henri Matisse to Sonia Delauney, Helen Frankenthaler and Etel Adnan. The intention is that the collection itself feels like an art gallery. Fashion is also at the core of this collection. Influenced by designers such as Stine Goya, Issey Miyake and Marimekko, each piece is designed for statement clothing; allowing the wearer to express themselves in a way that only art allows.
